Fighting the Rumors….Again…

Mike Walsh on November 10th, 2008

There really are important things to talk about here, but I want to get something out of the way first.

I have recently run into a barrage of misinformation, which I had honestly though of as dismissed, about our president elect. Talk of his being a Muslim. Talk of him not really being born in the United States. Ridiculous, but let’s look at it once again, just to clear things up once and for all, shall we?

Second point first. Barack Obama was Born 7:24PM August 4th, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii, according to his birth certificate. When the birth certificate was released, there were immediate statements flying around that it was a forgery, that it was fake, even though what was out there was not an Original, but a scanned copy of his birth certificate. In August 2008, a Philadelphia lawyer by the name of Philip Berg challenged in court then Senator Obama’s eligibility for the Presidency o the grounds that he was in fact born in Kenya and was a citizen of Indonesia, and therefor inelegible to run for the Presidency. The complaint was dismissed by district court Judge R. Barclay Surrick. A quote from the philadelphia daily news website, philly.com:

In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg’s allegations of harm were “too vague and too attenuated” to confer standing on him or any other voters.

Surrick ruled that Berg’s attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were “frivolous and not worthy of discussion.”

The judge also said the harm Berg alleged did “not constitute an injury in fact” and Berg’s arguments to the contrary “ventured into the unreasonable.”

For example, Berg had claimed that Obama’s nomination deprived citizens of voting for Sen. Hillary Clinton in November. (Berg backed Clinton in the primaries.)

Not to mention there was a birth announcement of one Bouncing Baby Barack that came out 9 days later in the Honolulu Advertiser.

You people need to pay closer attention, I’m not saying this stuff again.

Next Up. The Muslim Thing.

Barack Obama is not a muslim. Barack Obama is Not a Muslim. BARACK OBAMA IS NOT A F$#%$% MUSLIM! GOT IT? GOOD! NOW SHUT THE F*** UP ABOUT IT.

Sorry, I was channeling Rahm Emanuel for a second there.

Two facts to chew on. One: He was Sworn in to the U.S. Senate on His Family Bible. Let me repeat that for the ignoramuses out there. HIS FAMILY BIBLE. BIBLE. CHRISTIAN BIBLE. (I’m shaking my head in disbelief that I even have to mention this)

The actual “Obama: Secret Muslim” thing was made up by right wing nutjob Andy Martin about two weeks after President-Elect Obama’s keynote address in 2004. Out of the Blue.

He was heard once when talking to George Stephanopolous, about his religion, and he said “My Muslim Faith”, and he was corrected by George and the conversation went on. People have latched on to this as the clinching proof that Preseident-Elect is a muslim. One word suffices as an answer to this.

PLEASE.

Like I have said numerous times both here and On my personal blog, there is nothing reasonable or intelligent about this. The people who are latching onto this are looking for a reason to dislike and distrust him. I will say the following to you who believe that Obama really is a muslim.

Why search for a reason to hate him? Hate, like love, needs no reason. Plus I think most mature adults know the real reason why peole latch onto this fluff.

The horse-manure never ends with these people, does it?

Do you dislike the President-Elect, and if so, Why, and If not, why not? Do you let reason rule when making political decisions about politicians, or do you, like most Americans, go with gut level instinct and then look to see what they are about? I’m curious to see what you think America! Drop me a Line!

banana-bunch_d.gif OK, this is not the Kinda bunch I’ll be talking about here, but let’s go Bananas for just a Minute…

McCain Looked at Obama! He didn’t call Barack “That One”! He Brought up Bill Ayers! He asked Barack Obama to reject and repudiate Rep. John Lewis! But most of all this Debate was about One man.

JOE THE PLUMBER!

Joe Wurzelbacher “the Plumber” was a man who showed up at an Obama rally and said Obama’s tax “increases” would make it impossible for him to start a plumbing business. I tell you this, The entire debate revolved around Joe. There was talk of economy and taxes and health care, and both men mentioned, and in fact spoke to Joe when speaking on these subjects, in absentia I believe. He won this debate! He was mentioned more than President Bush or Bill Ayers! Go Joe!

To the meat of the Issue, how things actually went. With sharp emphasis On John McCain and his performance.

John McCain came out aggressive, swinging hard, and initially it worked. He was doing really well. He was occasionally factually incorrect, but he has a penchant for that, so there’s no surprise there. He blamed “Fannie and Freddie Mae” for the Subprime Mortgage crisis. No mention of CDO’S or Credit default swaps, but he was convincing in his delivery. He also said he was disappointed in Henry Paulson for not doing more for homeowners. He also spoke of his $300,000,000,000 plan for buying up mortgages. I’m sure the small government Republicans loved that. But I digress…

His tone worked. It was actually Reaganesque, insofar as it sounded good while not necessarily saying much. The fact checking could use a bit of help but this was a strong start for John McCain.

He Mentioned Joe The Plumber! (JOE FOR PREZ IN ‘16) He gave us a great line here… Quoting the Congressional Quarterly transcript:

Fifty percent of small business income taxes are paid by small businesses.

Truly a man of greatness…..or something…. And here I thought that small business paid 100% of of small business income taxes…

Now to be serious for a minute I do think John McCain came out firing, at least tone wise on all cylinders. His message I think he got across fairly well as well, but for only about the first 20 minutes or so. I actually thought he was winning the debate for a fair bit of the early part of the debate. He called Barack Obama’s tax plan class warfare. He also came up with the line of the night:

Senator Obama, I am not President Bush. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago.

As far as Abortion and the supreme court goes, John McCain said that he would employ no litmus test to any nominees for the Highest court in the land and he would consider anyone who was qualified… except that he would not consider anyone who was Pro- Roe V. Wade. Umm….Senator…That IS a litmus test.

Sometimes all you can do is shake your head…..

Senator McCain was also his usual dry yet bombastic, acerbic and caustic self, coming up with a great many of the same lines and lies that he came up with in the other two debates. But I have to tell you the worst part of the debate for Senator McCain came when he spoke about William Ayers and Acorn and John Lewis and the amount of money the Obama campaign is spending.

None of it worked. None of it. He sounded like a petulant child when he spoke of the Obama campaign using unprecedented amounts of money on attack ads. He sounded all sorts of cranky when he spoke of the bad things people have said about him at Obama rallies. Something he has said for several days. I have yet to hear any calls for John McCain’s death by Obama crowds, and don’t recall anyone saying John McCain is a terrorist. He positively swooned when Barack Obama didn’t immediately repudiate (I HATE THAT WORD) the statement of Rep. John Lewis.

John McCain claimed that the Obama campaign was trying to say that Honored War vets and “military wives for McCain” were being nasty. Not from what I’ve heard. No specific group or individuals have been called out by the Obama campaign or anyone else.

John McCain asked about the Full extent of Barack Obama’s relationship with both acorn and Williams Ayers. Barack Obama obliged him. Told of his working with Mister Ayers and his work with the Justice department and Acorn on The motor voter laws in the 1990’s, and when Sen. McCain pressed him about launching his career from Bill Ayers living room, Barack Flat out denied it. (I covered this subject on Tuesday) And even after the facts were put out there he asked for them again, as if to give the impression that he hadn’t really given them.

My thoughts on who won the debate: John McCain was Combative, strong, and tough. But after a strong early start, he, as the night wore on, became a bit twitchy, pensive, and angry. This was his best debate, bar none, due to that strong start. And he still lost. Not for lack of trying though. He gave this one everything, but his everything was just less than impressive. On several occasions John McCain praised Sen. Obama’s eloquence, only to attack the man for speaking in what he clearly thought was a sly manner. He tried to stick some good punches in but he ended up hitting air most every time he took a swing at the junior senator from Illinois.

Sen. Obama didn’t hit one out of the park, but he didn’t really need to today. He stayed ahead by staying above the fray and sticking to the points his campaign have relied on the entire campaign. His delivery was, as usual, professorial, and he had a calm command of the stage, something he has had in all the debates. That thought surprises me, because when he was debating Hillary Clinton he was not at his best and she fought him hard the same way Sen. McCain did and somehow Her attacks stuck and his simply do not. And it’s not for lack of trying.

That’s my take on the Final debate. Tell me what you think, America! Drop me a line and let’s Talk about the Debate!

. . . . . . . . . .

regret.jpg I do so love it when throw me raw red meat. I truly do. This one’s a doozy.

Tuesday, during a speech given to a crowd in Lebanon, Virginia, said of John McCain and his Economic policies,”You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. You can wrap a fish in a newspaper called change, but it’s still gonna stink.”

John McCain, Karl Rove, and the rest of the Republicans gave the Obama campaign the Once over, latching on to the pig portion of the above statement, and claiming that it must have been a dig at John McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin. They said they wanted an apology. They claimed the remark was sexist. They said that it was wrong to speak about poor Sarah Palin like that. The words “Schoolyard Insults” were bandied about. They released a web ad saying that it was a horrible thing. It is here where the usual Democratic response would be to issue an apology. The Democrat’s response to this hail of Anger from the Republicans?

You’re Righteous Indignation is a lie. Cram it. One of Obama’s subordinates, I forget which one at this point, said John McCain said the same thing about Hillary Clinton a few months ago, and it was no big deal then, and just a few minutes ago watched THAT clip, of McCain saying it about Hillary. No one batted an eyelash about that. I pay CLOSE attention to the things said on the campaign trail, and this passed under my radar, meaning no one said anything about it. Funny thing is, I don’t recall any outrage over that use of the term.

OK, he didn’t actually say “Cram it” , but you get the point. The Dems didn’t roll over, and Not only didn’t roll over, they struck back. Hard. Here is what he actually said, Courtesy of CNN:

“We have real problems in this country right now. The American people are looking to us for answers, not distractions, not diversions, not manipulations. They want real answers to the real problems we are facing.

“I don’t care what they say about me. But I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and swift boat politics. Enough is enough,”

Let’s watch the Lipstick on a pig video:

Now, answer me one question. Anywhere there, do you hear the name Sarah Palin mentioned once? I don’t. Inferred even once? I don’t hear it either. And if you do, you’re seeing what you want to see, and nothing that resembles the real world. SNAP OUT OF IT!

The Republicans look stupid over this, but I don’t think they can help themselves. They are so used to Democrats just wilting, that when one finally stands up to them, they frankly look a bit lost.

But I’ll give them this much. They aren’t backing down. Despite the fact that they’ve lost this one, that there is no way to actually look at that video and have any real tangible connection to Sarah Palin, they are still talking about this being sexist. My question to them, and anyone out there is sexist Against who? John McCain? It was John McCain and his policies that Barack Obama was talking about. Sarah wasn’t mentioned once.

It’s OK tho. I am getting used to the McCain campaign shooting itself in the foot. But I like the fact that the Obama Campaign shot them first.

How do you feel about this? Do you think it was silly for John McCain’s camp to attack the lipstick on a pig line? Did The Obama camp take the right line to counter McCain and his “indignation”? Do you like lipstick on pigs? And if so, why?

As for me…. Personally, I prefer five alarm hot sauce, but that’s just me. Nothing wrong with setting pigs on fire and adding a little hot sauce afterwards. They’re tastier that way! :-)

Non Issues Revisited: Are you Experienced?

Mike Walsh on September 5th, 2008

240.gif I have a question for everyone reading this. How much experience did you have when you got to your first job? None obviously. Your third? Your Fifth? Your first job might not have been near as difficult or demanding as the one you have now, but did the jobs you had early on prepare you in any way for the job you have now? Did they Teach you anything? Yes?

I thought So.

I want to put to rest once and for all the myth of “lack of experience” in this campaign, if for no other reason than to create in your minds the notion that there is in fact enough experience on both tickets, and I am speaking now of Barack Obama AND Sarah Palin. Their supposed “lack of experience” is a media created myth and does not play all that much of a factor in how good a President or Vice President these two can be.

Let’s, before we begin the argument, look at the experience levels of these two people.

Sarah and Barack have a few things in Common. They are both in their 40’s. They are both strong speakers and have been in politics for a couple of years, not many but a few. Sarah has been governor for just under 2 years, Barack has been a Senator for about 3½. They both came up through the ranks rapidly. They both started at the bottom.

There are things here that these two have in common with some very well known leaders this nation knows and lauds. 8 Presidents have come to power in their 40’s, including Teddy Roosevelt, the Youngest man to ascend to the presidency at just 42 years of age, John F. Kennedy, WWII hero and one of the most inspiring leaders this nation has ever seen, and Bill Clinton, the only President to actually Balance the Budget…ever if memory serves me.

I do not think it was experience that made each of these men good and even great presidents. It was strength of will, character, the ability to learn and adapt while in office that made each of these people good at what they were. Leaders.

How Much experience did any of these people have when they became president? T.R. was a sickly boy who fought through great adversity to become the man he became. He was the police chief of New York City, Governor of New York for 2 Years, and Assistant Secretary to the Navy. How would that play in today’s election cycle?

They’d hound him. They’d hammer him, relentlessly.

John F. Kennedy was a Rich man’s son who was born into a prominent political family in the Boston area, and when started his run for the Presidency, He had already been groomed and primed for office, and had started his political career when he was only 29 years old, so he had some experience. But if you put him in today’s election cycle, how much grief do you think a one term senator who had served a few years as a Representative from Massachusetts would catch?

Maybe not as much crap as Obama and Palin have received, but youth would still have hindered him.

And we all know Bill Clinton’s story. Former Governor of Arkansas, he was a Kid when he first came into office there as Governor, only 23 years old. He was hammered for not being experienced enough to run the country back in 92, he was just too young, only 46. He made it though, didn’t he? Did pretty good too.

Only 46. Sarah Palin is 44 and Barack Obama turned 47 last month. Too young and inexperienced my ass.

To make the “inexperienced” argument is to deny the greatness of these other young leaders, T.R. and JFK, and Bill Clinton, and mocks the accomplishments of every young upcoming aspiring politician. Would you say “NO, you MUST serve as a lackey until WE DECIDE when you are ready?” Who are you to judge the people like that?

Where would T.R. have been if we had that Mindset back then? What about JFK?

Please. The experience question here is a silly question. It makes no difference.

There are other things which you can hit these two people with. If experience was THE key factor in electing officials, we would have nothing but old men every election cycle. 8 - 40 something presidents and none over 70 at their first inauguration tells me that that is simply not the case. Age and experience really do not matter all that much. If it did there would be no such thing as good strong young leaders. You would discount the great deeds of JFK and Teddy Roosevelt, Bill Clinton, U.S. Grant and the like.

Is there such a thing as not enough experience? You bet yer ass! You obviously wouldn’t want the fry guy at Mickey D’s with his finger on the Button, but a few years under your belt to learn the ropes politically and a keen and observant mind should be enough to handle anything the world throws at you. This I think is true in most lines of work.

What do you think? Do these two have enough to handle sitting in, or in the case of Mrs. Palin, a melanoma away from, the Big chair? How important is the “experience” issue for you? Does it matter? Should it? Drop me a line and let’s yak about it for a bit.

A Not So Swift Boat Sinks

Mike Walsh on August 20th, 2008

sinking_ship.jpg A few words about Jerome Corsi, author of “Unfit for Command” and the new “Obama Nation”. The Man is an Idiot. A blithering yammering buffoon. A dolt of the Highest order. I would say something nice about him, but …. wait ….. no i wouldn’t. There are few types of people I have no room for in this world, and conspiracy theorists are near the top of that list. Bullshit artists are not far behind.

Let’s talk about what the man has written before. His most famous work “Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry” was an amazingly brazen lie from one cover to the other, Those who served with John Kerry refuted every negative claim made against him in the book, and contains interviews about John Kerry with people who never even served with the man!

His Book “Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians” claims that American Democrats have been bought by the Iranians and that the dems are working with the mullahs to get Iran the Bomb, and that a prominent Iranian American who did fund raising for John Kerry in 2004 was in fact an agent of the Iranian Government. Untrue. Completely Unfounded.

He has also claimed that John McCain has the backing of a group tied to Al-Qaeda , that there is an unlimited supply of oil being constantly created under the earths crust, and that George Bush was trying to turn the U.S., Mexico and Canada into one big nation.

Um…. How high do you have to be to believe this bullshit?

A note. I have NOT read this book. I was not even going to cover this, but I decided to take a look at the rebuttal “Unfit for Publication”, put out in response to this book. I saw that the Junior Senator from Illinois had nailed Mister Corsi for no less then 50 Inaccuracies, then started to read the rebuttal a bit more In depth. I may read Mister Corsi’s book, at some point. But I tell you I have a low tolerance for Bullshit, and I do not want to spend $25 dollars or whatever the price of this book is and give it to this man and encourage useless stupidity. If he had anything credible to say, I would look into it. I haven’t see one credible thing from this man though, anywhere. And I have been looking.

Onto covering Obama’s response to Corsi. Always leading with corsi’s own statements from the book “The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality”

Let’s See…In no particular order: Corsi said that Barack Obama’s parents may never have been married, and on the same page said they were.

He says that in Barack Obama’s first book “Dreams of my Father” that he never wrote about his father’s problems with Alchohol, despite the fact that he did.

Corsi says Obama never wrote about taking his wife to be Michelle to Kenya in that same book, but He in fact did.

Corsi claims that the book wasn’t dedicated to his family, when it in fact was.

Corsi claims hasn’t answered questions as to whether he had dealt drugs in college, or continued to do drugs into his law school days, and then seemingly implies that Barack may have in fact kept doing drugs by asking whether he had continued using drugs even after he had become a State and even U.S. Senator.

He stopped when he was 20, and has stated so on numerous occasions.

Corsi claimed that Barack Obama took sides in Kenyan Politics in 2006 by siding with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

He did nothing of the sort.

I am hoping you see a pattern here.

To read a more complete list of Gaffes, Goofs and Mistakes from America’s Dumbest Author, click here.

I have to say, I am not in the least intrigued by this man or what he has to say. Sounds like a conservative wish list for what they would like to say about Senator Obama, but falls far short of what Mister Obama says is reality. And knowing Mister Corsi’s prior work, I believe Senator Obama here.

Watch a Video about the man, from Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

Am I the only one who loses his mind when he runs into stupidity like this? Do you believe there is a place for clear lies like these? Do you think anyone actually Buys this claptrap? Do you think I am off base with my assertions here? Drop me a Line and Let me Know!

Bamboozled!

Mike Walsh on July 30th, 2008

finger-pointing.gif

I’ve been bamboozled!

Scott McClellan Lied to me! He Lied to America! Last Friday Scott McClellan gave what was to me the Unerring Impression that the White House had handed Fox News talking points, and gave the impression that fox ate it up by agreeing with Chris Matthews when he asked if the White House had given talking points to Fox..

NOT!

Mister McClellan went on yesterday onto Bill O’Reilly’s radio show and recanted, and apologized to Mister O’Reilly. On Hardball with Chris Matthews, yesterday, they played that portion of the show where he actually said he was sorry to Bill. And Bill deserved an apology. You don’t tell a blatant lie about a man in front of the entire nation. There’s this thing called ethical behavior. Mister McClellan decided to not to use it on Hardball when He lied to America.

But to be honest the man was baited into it, and if you watch and listen, HE never actually said O’Reilly was given Talking Points, Matthews did, and McClellan agreed, which he should not have. One has to now wonder about the authenticity of the mans words here, If he’ll let himself be pushed like this On National television, how much was he pushed around when he was writing that book?

And before I go any further, I would like to Apologize for Tuesday’s post. I called out the Bush administration and called them Nazis for propagandizing. They didn’t do it. I fell for it and I was wrong. I apologize, to you dear reader, to the President, To Fox News, and to America, for being so quick to demonize before facts were out and the dust settled.

Today’s Video is from Bill O’Reilly talking about this subject yesterday.

O’Reilly attacks NBC at the beginning of this video and is a bit silly there, but beyond that he is right. He was besmirched. Chris Matthews baited Scott McClellan into answering the way he did, and Matthews was wrong. He went below and beneath the standards that should exist in journalism and he should apologize to America, To Bill O’Reilly, and Scott McClellan. Scott McClellan should have shown more backbone and stood up to Chris Matthews and said No, and said He never gave or heard of anyone giving talking points to particular individuals at The Fox Network, if that was the case, as it appears to be..

I was wrong to jump so hard and so fast on the anti-fox anti-Bush bandwagon on this particular subject. I have plenty of other reasons to heartily dislike Fox and The President. I don’t need made up ones.

Fun With Media Bias

Mike Walsh on July 23rd, 2008

media_monkeys.jpgI keep my eyes peeled for the latest talk of bias in the media and the charges are rampant. It’s everywhere. There’s liberal media bias, there’s conservative bias all over the radio as well as TV. There are tons of people who watch for this stuff so they can complain about it. They say that the media is out to get their candidate. Which might well be true.

The problem as i see it with media bias, is two fold. It’s the Media, and it’s the audience.

For example. It is media bias to some when John McCain gets called on the carpet for flip flopping on issues, has his main economic adviser toss the word “whiner” around and get called on the carpet for it, and calls Social Security a “Disgrace”, but it is OK when Obama “Changes his Mind” on Fisa…. alternately

It is media bias to others when Obama flip flops on Fisa and surrenders your Fourth Amendment rights, but McCain is right to speak about Soc. Sec. like that because it’s run poorly, and Phil is right, dammit….

Yes, the networks have a bias(DUH), but it exists for a reason, to get you to watch, or listen. And don’t act like YOU don’t have bias here. You do. You Know you do. At the very least it’s an anti-media or anti liberal or anti conservative bias. This Media bias thing is a Tango, and it takes two to tango. Admit it. You Love your dance partner. If you didn’t you wouldn’t watch.

How Interesting would it be, how would they get you to watch, if they were bland and didn’t interject opinion? Not at all! Those bastards at the Networks, and the political parties for that matter, are trying to get your attention, and your goat and they are trained professionals. Why do they Do it? Is It the money? The power? The bright lights and glitz?

Well, yes. And it’s because they can, because they want to. There are as many reasons as there are viewpoints. But what do they want in return? They want you to buy into their thinking, their ideology, they want to plant doubt into the hearts of those who think differently from them, while reinforcing the ideas and ideals they back and profess.

They want to buy and sell you as they see fit.

But how do you fight it? How can you? You need Information so you can make the critical choices you have to make in this world, right?

I don’t know about you, but as for me, I need as much information as I can get my hands on to make intelligent choices. But not from the media conglomerates that want to spoon feed it to me, but straight from the source if at all possible, and since there really isn’t anywhere you can look that has NO bias whatsoever, usually I just hit my search engine of choice and look for something a little out of the way if I can’t get it straight from the source. I try to get both positive and negative news on Dems and Repubs, and 3rd party candidates. Maybe I’ll create a page here with a complete list at some point of all the places I look for news and info. Ask and ye shall receive. Maybe.

If you want entertainment, by all means watch. But don’t bitch if your candidate gets the treatment. There’s a reason they call it a SHOW.

If you want to learn about government, read works created by for and about the government.

If you want to learn about the second amendment, or the fourth, read the Constitution.

If you want to learn about the Candidates and avoid the hype, go to the candidate’s website, watch a speech on Youtube. LOOK AROUND. Don’t just accept the crap the media hands you. Stop watching the media circus if it bothers you. There are other places to get information. Want to see the Candidates as they really are? Watch C-Span or something. Listen to a press conference. Try to get the message without the filter placed on it by the media.

Don’t Bitch about the media, and then go back and watch MORE of it. If you do, YOU’RE the one with the issue. It’s entertainment, like baseball or reality shows or game shows. Sometimes it’s good, but sometimes it’s just Monkey Business.

And it’s not the only show in town.

. . . . . . . . . .

Flag Cartoon DON’T Burn the flag! It’s Bad! However it isn’t and Shouldn’t be put in the Constitution as an Amendment. Neither should a Gay marriage ban. And the whole flag pin thing is just silly.

Diversion#1: The Flag Burning Amendment. Doesn’t the flag stand for freedom? Should you not be free to do with the flag what you like, AS AN EXPRESSION OF THAT FREEDOM? Sure, you run the risk of getting killed by Americans who love the flag, and that number would include me, but shouldn’t we have the right to do what we like with the symbols that surround us? Isn’t that what freedom is really about? The capacity to do what you wish without the Government Meddling in your affairs?

While I think Flag burning is an affront to all that is good and right, I also think it is an even Bigger affront to The American People for the Government to pass a law of ANY type that prohibits any form of EXPRESSION OF FREEDOM.

Diversion #2: The Federal Marriage Amendment. All the gay community wants is to be seen as on an equal footing as the straight community, and have the same rights. I can Marry, and I have, I have a beautiful wife, why can’t two women get married? Or two men? Who are we kidding here, this issue isn’t about what is good and right, it is about offending the sensibilities of Homophobes who are in all likelihood sexually conflicted themselves, and unable to articulate it.

There are few arguments for the “Federal Marriage amendment” that make sense. Lets see…

Protection of “Conjugal marriage”: Please…. In what way can you seriously say that Conjugal marriage needs protection? Is my Marriage to my wife in jeopardy because two homosexuals want to say “I do”? No. and neither is yours! Or Anyone else’s for that matter. Protection isn’t necessary when nothing is being attacked.

Most other arguments deal in minutiae and Interstate law. AKA Whether the Laws and Judgments of One state should necessarily apply in another state. Legalistic Mumbo Jumbo that has no real meaning outside of a courtroom. The Proponents of said amendment sound like they are trying to save themselves the hassle of doing their jobs and Rendering judgments. Bunch of Lazy Bastards!

The truth is, many straight people are Offended by the concept that Homosexuals can be the equals of heterosexuals. There is no need for an amendment to the Constitution that’s real lasting impact will be to Protect the SENSIBILITIES of the people.

Diversion#3: Flag Pins: Barack Obama; Serial Non flag Pin wearer!!! ARREST THAT MAN! Wait.. That’s not…actually…Illegal. Um.. What is the real issue here? Why the Hell does it matter that this man doesn’t wear a flag pin. I don’t wear one, and I don’t catch any flack for it.

And I am more of a Patriot than you.

The reason I don’t wear one? I don’t own one. And I don’t wear too many things that have lapels on them. Poverty and lapels don’t really mix.

Just because Senator Obama doesn’t wear a flag pin doesn’t mean he’s Un-American. He’s Put legislation into law that has helped millions of Americans. Just like every other senator. I personally think that makes the Man more of a Patriot than any whiny, wimpy, self appointed, alleged patriot who thinks wearing a flag pin is important.

If you Look at the Picture currently presented by the media and Politicians of this fine land, Mudslinging and stupidity are masquerading as political thought, and in truth rule the land. Makes me angry as hell thinking that Issues like education and the environment get less play then these useless, trivial, mindless alleged issues.

…..And you know there’ll be more as well. Stay tuned boys and girls. :-)
