The Page that is Mike

admin on November 23rd, 2005

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA My name is Mike, I am 41 years old, and I work what can only be called a dead end job In New York City. I live On Staten Island and Commute to Manhattan to work said dead end job.

I somehow, despite my Crappy job status, have managed to find and hold onto a wife. Her name is Sue, and Sue is a beautiful, wonderful person and she deserves better then me. She is a writer and she is my inspiration.

I became Interested in politics at an early age, at the age of nine, I thought that Jimmy Carter would make a good President. I told a few people about it. I don’t remember who I told this to. I remember some pretty amused adults, I’ll tell ya that. But I picked the Guy who became President and I was hooked. Whether Jimmy was a good president is your call.

Despite that Interest in Politics, I didn’t vote for President until I was 25 years old, in 1992. I had voted before, but never for President. In 1992 I Voted for Bill Clinton.

I, despite some very Democratic leanings, have voted for several Republicans. Rudolph Giuliani, twice, as well as Vito Fossella, and before him Susan Molinari for the Staten Island house of representatives seat and other various local politicians.

In the Parlance of Political Philosophy, you can call me a Minarchist, kinda. It’s as close to an actual label that i’ve found that fits me, but it isn’t precise. I am a Democrat, but despite what you may have gathered from my statements above, I was actually a Republican for a Number of years. Ask me about how I feel about a particular subject and see where on the spectrum I live.

I am a Flawed man in a Flawed world trying like hell to make himself better, and I hope that in doing so, that i can help make the world a better place.

A video for you to watch and giggle at: George Carlin being rude to voters of every ilk, Beautiful, dirty and funny as hell!

If you want to fight about the stuff i write here, Let’s fight. I like starting trouble just to see what happens sometimes, but I guess most people have that in them to some degree. On the other hand, if all I do is bring a smile to your face and a thought to your mind, that’s perfectly alright with me.

Do You know Something? I’m kinda hungry right now and an acronym comes to mind. M.W.A.H. MIKE WANTS A HAMBURGER. I’m gonna go have one. Enjoy a Quote, Via Wikiquote:

“Anyone who clings to the historically untrue — and thoroughly immoral — doctrine that “violence never solves anything” I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and of the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms.” Robert A. Heinlien from the book “Starship Troopers”

  3. Hey Uncle Mikey,

Why nothing about the Green Party? No links in the blog roll or anything. You have Nader, Barr, Democrats, Republicans, Obama, McCain…but nothing Green.

Of course, that’s your right, but in case you didn’t know, we do exist. :-)
